THE ARIAT STORY Top Ariat International was founded in 1991 by Beth Cross and Pam Parker. Pam and Beth were avid equestrians who realized there was a need for high performance riding boots for top competitive riders. Being riders themselves, they had been riding in footwear that had not been updated for over 100 years, and was terribly uncomfortable, lacking in any cushioning, support or flexibility. They believed that they could bring the same technology to riding boots that Reebok, Nike and others had brought to athletic shoes. Pam and Beth had worked with Reebok as consultants, and during their tenure developed a network of the top creative talent in athletic footwear. In 1992, they assembled team of footwear engineers, podiatrists and top athletic shoe designers to develop Ariat's first line of riding boots. Tested in the field for over a year, when the boots hit they market they were an instant hit. Ariat quickly became the footwear of choice among top riders around the world, offering equestrians state of the art technology for balance, stability and cushioning. The company name, "ARIAT", derives from the Italian word "aria" which means " a perfect solo performance". Often, when a horse and rider are in perfect harmony, they appear to be performing as one or solo. Moreover, performance is what Ariat footwear is all about! |
